Judges notes:
Through a rich range of tones and compelling depiction of light and shadow, the artist has created a quiet sense of intimacy in this work. I enjoy the contract - and also connectivity - between the foreground figure and the painting in the background.

Judge's notes:
A delightful still life with a vibrant pop art aesthetic. There is a tension between the bright, primary colors and decay of the objects and setting. It is both modern and nostalgic.

Judge's notes:
Very skilled drawing. Artist has conveyed an amazing amount of texture and detail within the subject's face, hands, and denim shirt (including the reflection of the glasses).

Judge's notes:
I appreciate the way the different textures and surfaces of an oyster are captured in this pastel. It conveys a sense of translucence and wetness. It is almost abstract in its composition, yet highly precise.

Judge's notes:
An interesting composition that reminded me of a dollhouse. Each room is contained, compartment with its own mysterious narrative. To me, it is a comment upon household and family connections, as well as domestic isolation. Love the bright palette, distorted perspectives and pink shadows!

Judge's notes:
My eye was drawn to this striking cyanotype. The subject's pose and patterned fabric are very compelling.
