WELCOME NEW BOARD MEMBER: Gretchen Nevin

Gretchen Nevin is one of the newest members of the York Art Association’s (YAA) board of directors, joining at an exciting time of growth and transition for the organization. She brings a unique combination of professional expertise and artistic experience that will help strengthen YAA and the local arts community at large.
Gretchen is a seasoned operations professional at Broadcast Sports International, a company that delivers customized wireless cameras, audio, and communication systems for major live sporting events. In her role, she coordinates complex logistics, guides cross-functional teams, and ensures smooth operations in high-pressure conditions.
In addition to her career in operations, Gretchen is also a multidisciplinary artist with a special interest in painting and photography. A lifelong painter, she developed a passion for photography after becoming a mother, and now considers herself “a photographer who also paints.” Her most recent project, a series of 100 portraits, has been exhibited throughout the York area, with more showings planned for the near future.
“I was inspired to join the board at YAA during this period of growth and change. As an artist, I am continually looking for ways to further support and strengthen the arts within our community,” Gretchen said. She is deeply committed to YAA’s mission of supporting emerging artists through education and helping them gain visibility. “Getting started with showing your work is not easy and not often intuitive,” she added. She hopes to help the emerging artists in our community develop and grow through her work with YAA.
Through both her operational and creative work, Gretchen exemplifies how professional expertise, artistic passion, and community engagement can come together to strengthen the arts in York. We are thrilled to have her join us as a board member, and we appreciate her guidance in this time of transition for our organization.
