Celebrate YAA’s New Linden Avenue Home With Two Exhibitions And Spaces For Art, Learning And Community

YORK, Pa - The York Art Association (YAA) will officially open the doors to its new home on Linden Avenue in York on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m. Neighbors, families and art enthusiasts are invited to explore YAA’s new galleries, classrooms, and gathering spaces as well as experience two exhibitions. The celebration marks a new chapter in YAA’s history and an opportunity to welcome the community into its new home.

The grand opening will also mark the debut of the Inaugural Members’ Juried Exhibition, a special, one-time exhibition commemorating the opening of YAA’s new facility. The exhibition is presented by Univest Financial, with York College of Pennsylvania and UPMC Pinnacle as Supporting Sponsors and Keller Contracting as the Cornerstone Sponsor. The grand opening is additionally supported by Ream Printing Company Inc, Explore York, and several community partners, whose generosity and collaboration help make this milestone possible while advancing YAA’s commitment to the fine visual arts in York County.

The exhibition will feature 70+ selected works from both professional and non-professional member artists and will celebrate the breadth of creativity within YAA. Consistent with YAA’s longstanding members’ exhibition tradition, professional and non-professional artists’ works will be exhibited together without category distinctions.

Joyce Henri Robinson, curator at Penn State’s Palmer Museum of Art since 1997 and assistant director since 2018, will serve as the juror for the inaugural exhibition. Robinson has curated more than 75 exhibitions during her career and co-curated MADE IN PA, the inaugural special exhibition at the Palmer Museum in 2024. In addition to YAA’s inaugural exhibition, guests can also enjoy A Sense of Place, a solo exhibition featuring artwork by Phyllis Disher Fredericks.

Attendees are encouraged to make a day of their visit to York on October 18 by attending the York County History Center’s 52nd Annual Fall Oyster Festival before heading over to YAA’s celebration in the afternoon.

As opening day approaches, YAA continues to raise funds toward its $2 million Art Transforming campaign goal. YAA hopes to reach that goal before October 18 and invites community members to help complete the transformation and support a stronger future for the arts in York County. Contributions can be made at www.yorkartassociation.org/giving.

The grand opening will be held at 591 Linden Avenue, York, PA 17404. For event details and visitor information, visit www.yorkartassociation.org or contact YAA at (717) 755-0028.
