One year ago, the York Art Association began one of the most meaningful chapter in our 120 year history: a two million dollar capital campaign to transform the historic Little Green Church into our future home for the visual arts and community connection.
This journey began long before our first pledge.
March 2023, YAA received official notice from PennDOT that our longtime Marshall Street property would be affected by upcoming improvements to I-83.
November 2023, after months of searching, we selected and secured the Little Green Church as our next location through an ad hoc committee.
Throughout 2024, we completed feasibility studies and the architectural plans for the building, that supported and strengthened our vision.
May 2024, we approached the Capital Campaign Advisory Committee for support, feedback, and informed them of our project.
February 2025, we launched our Capital Campaign Cabinet and began official fundraising for the Little Green Church.
Now, three years after that first notification and one year into our public fundraising effort, we are grateful to share that we have raised 78 percent of our goal. More than 15 percent of this support has come in since the public phase began in September 2025.
This is a powerful reflection of the belief and enthusiasm our community holds for what this project will bring to York County.
As we move into the final stretch of this campaign, we continue to rely on the generosity of our community. We still need your support to reach one hundred percent and to fully realize the vision for this remarkable space.
Together, we can transform the visual arts in our community.
