YAA POLICY: Class and Workshop Cancellation and Refund Policies; Page J 1
Approved: January 28, 2014
Two weeks prior to the fall, winter, spring or summer sessions the Office Management Team will notify the Education Committee Chair, Education Committee Secretary and Education Committee Publicity Member of any classes and workshops that do not meet minimum enrollment. At this time special efforts will be made to publicize the classes.
Minimum enrollment is six (6) students. Special workshop minimum enrollment may differ. The Office Management Team will be notified by the Education Committee in those cases. Maximum class or workshop enrollment is 12 unless the office Management Team is notified differently by the Education Committee or the instructor.
Classes or workshops not meeting minimum enrollment will be cancelled by the Office Management Team one week prior to the day of the first class.
Exceptions may apply to classes or workshops that are supply intensive, are special events or require travel plans for the instructor. In this event the class or workshop will be cancelled up to two (2) weeks prior to the starting date. The Office Management Team will be notified by the Education Committee in those circumstances.
The Education Committee will notify the Office Management Team of all exceptions by the mailing date of each catalog.
Classes and/or workshops may not be prorated. Refunds cannot be given after the first class or after twelve noon of the first day of a workshop. If the student withdraws after just one class they may receive a nontransferable voucher for another class. The voucher will be good for one year. A student must withdraw by twelve noon of the first day of a workshop to receive a voucher. If the Office Management Team deems the situation an extreme circumstance they may notify the Education Committee Chair and/or the Education Committee Secretary for a decision on the matter.
All other determinations will be made by the Education Committee Chair and/or the Education Committee Secretary.
